My Journey to the World of Sports

My journey to the world of sports began at very young age. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, a condition that affects brain and muscle system development. CP affects each person differently, but in my case it simply means I cannot walk.

Throughout my life as I tried to gain mobility and strive to live independently, I turned to sports to keep my spirits high. Simple games brought about friendships, motivation and encouragement that have helped me overcome any obstacle I may face.

Now, I live, eat and breathe sports. They always bring a smile to my face, no matter what.

Over years, I've learned my journey can't stop because I lack the ability to perform. There are numerous other ways I can give back. Deep down I know I need to share my story and the passion I have.

I would give anything for a chance to play the games I love, but God has blessed me in SO many other ways. I've traveled the country watching friends and athletes compete and through them I've realized that sometimes you learn more from the sidelines. I truly believe this wheelchair was placed in my life for a reason and I'm thankful for that.

I've learned valuable life lessons while supporting athletes: the small things in life aren't so small anymore, the friendships made are priceless, and all the opportunities I still have in front of me keep me going.

There is SO much more to being an athlete than trophies and medals. I want spend my life giving back to the sports and athletes that have given more than I ever could've imagined.
